The FDCDC  Board of Directors met February 13, 2021 for their monthly Board Meeting

The FDCDC Board of Directors met Saturday via video conference to plan their upcoming events for the year. The board reviewed key achievements and looked ahead to upcoming events and milestones, including the webinar, How to Successfully Start and Grow a Home-Based Business, which will be held on March 20, 2021.  Board members present were Anita Starling, Willie Howard, Sandra Thompson, James Brown, Virginia Brown, Kenya Etim, and Tracey Wallace. Not present at the meeting was Lucy Lacy.
We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Kenya Etim to the Board of Directors of the Fred Douglass Community Development Corporation. We anticipate that her skills and experience will be an asset to our Board and we look forward to working with her in the near future. We want to thank Dr. Etim for her willingness to serve our board.

Congratulations to our first  FDCDC Board Black History Champion,
James Brown. We had our first Black History Month challenge contest played by the FDCDC board members. The board members were asked four questions that were taken from the article, "Little Known Black History Facts." The winner answered the most questions and won $100.00 to be donated to the FDCDC in his name. James Brown won by answering this question, Who was the first African American female pilot? He answered, "Bessie Coleman."
